    How to Use The Registry

Several of our tips contains amendments to be carried out with the Registry. This is a built-in Windows programs that can be used to modify the system registry. It stores all the information that controls how Windows works and looks. Improper handling can damage the system and with the bad luck to make it unusable. You should be careful not to give you this a try if you are unsure! It is better to use a registry cleaner if you are unsure. This is the reason that all such tips is described as difficult, even if the tip is not so odd.

Registry can be started easiest by clicking the Start button, select Run and type

    regedit

In the left panel the so called registry keys is shown in exploring similar tree structure. There, you can then find your way to the keys you need to change or add. The values contain a key and appears in the right panel when the key is selected.

To change a value, you only need to double click on it and to remove it, click and press Delete on the keyboard. To create a new value, right-click and then from the menu, choose the kind of value you need.

The changes you implemented shall enter into force when you close the Registry Editor. But Sometimes you will not see the affect before the program is closed and sometimes you have to wait even until Windows restart for a change to take place.
