The development of the new version 3.0 of the free office package OpenOffice goes on. Now is the third and final release candidate ready for testing.
Open Office is the large office package based on open source and therefore is a completely free competitor to Microsoft Office. We now have a longer working on the next major version of the program - 3.0. This is now approaching its completion.
A so-called release candidate (a nearly completed version), the third and final before the final version, is now available for download. Get this: http://download.openoffice.org/680/ (English only).
Compared to version 2.0 contains 3.0 tons of news, new functions and features. V 3 means most bug fixes for V 2.
The finished version can be expected very soon - the plan is to launch and celebrate the eight anniversary in Paris on October 8.
