Can I Delete This?

I got a question from a friend of mine yesterday by email and I thought it would be useful for everyone to post it here on the blog

Hi Mehmet,

Can you help with something man, It is very important I don't know what to do.

In the C: \ Documents and Settings \ Adam - are three files that I wonder what it is. Important or delete?

1) ntuser 14

592kB DAT file

2) s-1-5-21-1052118420-390622975-2810602771-1005.rrr 12 504kB RRR file

3) test.prx 3kB PRX file

Talk to you later.

Adam

Answer:

Do not remove them.

Ntuser.dat is one of your registry files, a part of the system registry. Without the Windows ceases to function.

S-1-5-21-1052118420-390622975-2810602771-1005.rrr I am not so sure. The file name is called a Security Identifier, and you can find it in the system registry. Are you using a registry cleaner program? In this case, this is the backup of a part of your record.

Test.prx I have no idea what it can be. Probably, it can be erased, but the other part is 3 kilobytes anything that takes up much space, so it might as well be retained.
